Surface area (Fineness) Low, 2800- 3000 Blaine's HIGHEST in INDIA, 4400-4700 Blaine's. Our Cement Mill is of International standards.
Strength Fast setting, but gains in strength for weeks only. 33,43,53 MPa after 28 days, depending on grade Faster than OPC 33 (due to fineness), & gains in strength for YEARS. 30 % after First Year (NCCBM). Gains upto 43+ MPa after 28 days. Can make Grades upto 75+ MPa
Finishing Not as smooth due to lower Fineness Smoother finish on the walls and concrete. 40% LESS Paint Consumption. P.O.P. finish is not required.
Chemical Properties. Walls are discolored due to the liberation of calcium hydroxide & other chemicals Chemically Inert. Walls remain the same forever &ever
Resistance to Cracks Receptive to Shrinkage &thermal cracks Highly resistant. No more spiders' webs Low heat of hydration. Extreme PLASTICITY
Effect of atmosphere, Gases, fumes acids, alkali fungi etc Affected Highly resistant. Preferred cement for coastal areas (Sulphate resistant). MUST FOR BASEMENTS.
Life of building 60-100 years, depending on the Maintenance.The atmosphere rusts Iron & the first sign of decay surfaces along the ledges as the concrete starts peeling off the rusted reinforcement rods. 150-250 years. Due to lesser (The pores are fewer & concrete is impermeable & dense). Also AGEING is SLOWER. ALWAYS PASSES the AGEING TEST (AUTOCLAVE)
Our effort was recently lauded by a visiting team from Bureau of Indian Standards who simply described our cement as at par with the Country's best. We use quality Rotary Clinker. The Fly Ash used is the best available in ASIA. The Ash reacts with the Free Lime & other Chemicals of the Rotary Clinker to give upto 4 MPa Strength (at 3000 Blain's). The FLY ASH RIDS THE ROTARY CLINKER OF ALL ITS NEGATIVE PROPERTIES. No cement expert will ever recommend the use of OPC cement for general building applications. We, at ABS sincerely hope that ALL Cement in INDIA will someday, be made our way. This will also CONSERVE OUR NATURAL RESOURCES. Our Limestone reserves will suffice only for the next 45 years, whereas the mountains of Fly Ash keep increasing.
